What we offer

Early Years Learning Academy is a Private ECCE Preschool committed to offering an inclusive, safe and stimulating educational environment for children in the local community. Situated in Kilcock, we provide sessional Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) services for children aged 2.8 years to primary school. Our team's compassion, dedication, and interest in children, along with their high-standard qualifications, will give you peace of mind that your children are in good hands. Children's well-being is at the heart of what we do, and our highly qualified educators have received extensive training in both the Siolta and Aistear Frameworks. They are continually updated on childcare developments, policies, procedures, and effective childcare practices within Early Years Learning Academy. Our play-based and child-led program is funded by Pobal, free for our parents, and we run morning and afternoon sessions five days a week. We aim to create a secure, conducive, stimulating learning environment that meets parents' expectations while focusing on children's developmental needs.

Every Child is a Kinaesthetic Learner…

“Tell Me, and I Forget, Teach Me and I may remember, Involve Me and I Learn”…. Famous Quote by Benjamin Franklin.

An emergent curriculum is a teaching philosophy and a way of planning a curriculum that focuses on being responsive to children's interests to create meaningful learning experiences. This philosophy prioritises active participation, relationship building, flexible and adaptable methods, inquiry, and play-based learning. The curriculum is child-initiated, collaborative and responsive to the children's needs.

In Ireland, there are two early childhood frameworks - Síolta and Aistear.

Síolta is concerned with all aspects of quality in early childhood, whilst Aistear focuses specifically on curriculum.

While many of Síolta’s standards and components outline good practice in relation to the development of a high-quality curriculum, Aistear provides detail about how children learn and develop in early childhood and describes the types of experiences and learning opportunities that are important for them during this time.

The goal of AIM is to create a more inclusive environment in the pre-schools, so all children, regardless of ability, can benefit from quality early learning and care. The model achieves this by providing universal support to pre-school settings and targeted supports, which focus on the needs of the individual child without requiring a diagnosis of disability. This Is an inclusive model, not a one-on-one SNA model.
